College Stole, Honors Sash
Our honor stoles, also known as a college stole or honors sash, are available in a variety of colors. They are a popular item for a college graduation commencement ceremony. Often used for Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Cum Laude designation, or for honor society awards. Alternative styles are available on our Choir Stoles page (see the left-hand menu).
At your option, college stoles can be embellished with embroidery or silk screening with either lettering or a design (minimum 25 stoles). Prices and turn-around times for college honors stole embroidery or silk screen work vary depending on the quantity and time of year. See below for details.

*Indicates the minimum sum for your entire order. You do not have to meet the minimum order for just honor stoles. if your total order (including other items you are ordering at the same time, such as caps and gowns, a graduate gown or academic regalia or honor cords) meets this minimum order sum.
** Minimum order and Rush Order fees and availability may change depending on the season. Academic Apparel functions on two seasons: graduation season, which runs from about March through June, and non-graduation season, which runs from July to February. If there is a more expensive option, it will be during the graduation season.
Silk Screening and Embroidery
Silk-screening for honor stoles is available, on orders of 25 stoles or more. All silk-screened orders carry a fixed setup fee of $50.00. After the setup fee, the price is a fixed application fee of $1.50 per side (in addition to the standard stole prices listed above). You can silk-screen a design, lettering, or both. Available letters include Old English, Block, Script, and Greek lettering. Generally for designs we request that you email us a copy of the proposed design (as a .jpg or .gif file). Faxes or rough sketches of a design will require an additional artists fee to recreate the design digitally.
Embroidered Lettering for college stoles is available (minimum order 25 stoles). If you are interested in just embroidered lettering on stoles, there is no setup fee. The prices for embroidered lettering (which are in addition to the standard stole prices listed above) are as follows:

Embroidered Design has a setup fee, and a per-application fee. For example, if you had a symbol being embroidered on both sides of an honor stole, you would be charged a one time setup fee, and then an application fee for each side of the honor stole, on each stole you have the design.
The setup fee to render your design ranges from $30.00 to $100.00 depending on the complexity of the design, and the quality of the image you supply us with. We request that you email us a copy of the proposed design as a .jpg or .gif file. Faxes or rough sketches will increase the setup fee, as we will have to use the services of our in-house artist to recreate the design before rendering it.
The per-application fee is based on the number of stitches in your design. We will not generally know the number of stitches until the design is rendered by us. A rough guideline is provided below:

There is a minimum of 25 applications of any given design. So, for example, if you are ordering honor stoles, it would be a minimum 25 honor stoles.
When submitting your design, please try and keep in mind the visible space available for your design. For example, our honor stoles are about 32 inches long each side, and about 4 and one-half inches wide. However, some of that length is a tapered section near your neck that would not be visible, and another is a tapered section that comes to a point at the bottom of the stole. Realistically there is only about 18” to 19” of vertical length to work with, and around 4” of horizontal width, on each side.
Because all embroidered and silk-screened items are unique custom-made items, there are NO RETURNS ON EMBROIDERED OR SILK-SCREENED ITEMS.

A shipping charge will apply to all orders (priced depending on your exact location and the type of shipping speed you choose), and rush fees if you need it rush ordered (if available). Tax applies only to shipping locations within California. Generally, production times are around 4-5 weeks without a rush fee, or 3 weeks with a rush fee (when available). Shipping time is generally about one week for standard UPS shipping, or faster if you pay for a faster shipping method. We accept many forms of payment, including credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, Discover, eCheck, JCB, MasterCard, Visa), and U.S. based personal or business checks (either in the mail or through an online eCheck, easily processed through our site). Purchasing can be done directly online (using the menu link to the left) for all listed items except embroidered stoles, which require a fax, mail, or email submission for price estimation.
